Former Pakistan Home Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has said that Imran Khan is ready to meet with PM Shahbaz Sharif. He wants to talk about holding elections soon. He has informed that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party will take out a long march towards Islamabad by the end of May and will not back down until the date for the election is announced and in such a situation, the situation of civil war can be created. Huh. Let us inform that Imran Khan had recently announced a march towards Islamabad in the last week of May.
misunderstanding with the army
Rashid has further said that he is trying to clear the misunderstanding between PTI and the military establishment. Along with this, he also said that I am in favor of peace with the army and want reconciliation but in the event of ‘war’ I will stand with Imran Khan. He has further said that the army wants to maintain the continuity of democracy and the only way to maintain it is through early elections. If elections are not held soon, neither the government of Shahbaz Sharif nor the government of Imran will survive.
Civil war threat?
Rashid admitted that there were some difficulties during Imran Khan’s tenure due to which allies like Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) and Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) parted ways with us. He has told that Imran Khan is going to gather lakhs of people in Islamabad and in such a situation the country will go into a state of uncertainty which can lead to civil war.
Rashid said that Imran Khan’s politics will rule if a large number of people come to Islamabad. Our only demand is early elections. He said that we do not want to topple the Shahbaz government but the marchers will not return from Islamabad without announcing the date of the general election.
