Delhi is completely dependent on other states for water.Atishi has written a letter to the Union Water Minister. Atishi talked about finding a solution to the problem together.
New Delhi. The capital Delhi is currently facing a water crisis. Efforts are being made to supply water to many colonies through tankers. The BJP in the city is attacking the ruling Aam Aadmi Party on this issue. Meanwhile, on Friday, Delhi’s Water Minister Atishi Marlena requested the central government that additional water should be made available to Delhi from Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. In a letter to Union Water Power Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Atishi said that the water level of Wazirabad Barrage has fallen drastically in the last few days, as Haryana is not releasing the required amount of water into the Yamuna. She said that as a result, a massive water crisis has arisen in the national capital. She said that the temperature in Delhi has reached around 50 degrees Celsius. She said, “The demand for water has increased further due to the scorching heat, which is putting more burden on the supply of drinking water in Delhi.”
Atishi visited the Wazirabad barrage on Thursday and found that the water level of the pond was 670.3 feet while the normal water level is 674.50 feet. She said that this shortage has had a serious impact on the production capacity of water treatment plants in Delhi. In her letter sent on May 30, Atishi said, “I am writing this letter to draw your attention to the situation of severe water crisis in the national capital Delhi. As you know, Delhi is heavily dependent on the water of Yamuna river to meet its daily demand of water. “

If Haryana does not release water…
She said that if Haryana does not release enough water, Delhi’s water purification plants will not be able to function properly. Atishi said, “And if the water purification plants do not work properly, Delhi will not be able to meet its demand-supply gap. This will have a serious and direct impact on the people living in the national capital. I have written a letter to Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini to apprise him of this issue. However, we have not received any reply from his office yet.”
Our collective responsibility…
She said that people from all parts of the country come to the national capital in search of a better future. She said, “As a nation, it is our collective responsibility to ensure that the people of Delhi get water as per their requirement.” In a letter to Shekhawat, Atishi said, “I am writing to request you to ensure adequate supply of water for Delhi, whether it is from Haryana or Uttar Pradesh or any other state which is capable of providing water, so that the people of Delhi do not face any problem.”

Help Delhi get its share of water…
She said, “If you can kindly intervene and help us resolve this crisis, the Delhi government and its citizens will be forever grateful to you. It is necessary that Haryana immediately releases Delhi’s share of water into the Yamuna river so that the water level can come to the normal level of 674.5 feet.” Atishi also said that the Delhi government is making every effort to encourage people to stop wasting water.
We are taking action on wastage of water…
He said, “A multi-departmental approach is being adopted to ensure that there is no wastage of water. We have formed several teams on the ground to take immediate action against those wasting water. However, these steps will not be enough to reduce the water shortage in the national capital.” There is a huge shortage of water in Delhi and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government has accused Haryana of not giving the national capital’s share of water. On the other hand, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has blamed the AAP government for the water crisis in Delhi and claimed that Haryana is supplying 1,049 cusecs of water from the Yamuna to Delhi.
