Weather Update: It is raining, but humidity in Delhi-NCR and surrounding areas has made life miserable for people. In the last one week, people of Delhi and Noida got relief from rain. The Meteorological Department (IMD) said that there is no possibility of rain on Monday. At the same time, monsoon is gradually getting stronger in eastern India. Due to this, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Bengal, Rajasthan. IMD has issued an alert of torrential rain in the next 24 hours for the south-western states. Heavy rain is possible in Western Maharashtra, South Gujarat, interior Karnataka, Konkan, Goa and Kerala.
According to Skymet Weather, during the next 24 hours, moderate to heavy rains are possible over Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, North Madhya Maharashtra, East Rajasthan, Gujarat region, Konkan and Goa and coastal Karnataka. Kerala, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Assam, West Bengal, Jharkhand and Odisha may receive light to moderate rains with one or two heavy spells. Light to moderate rains are possible over Northeast India, Bihar, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Saurashtra and Kutch, Telangana, North Interior Karnataka and Lakshadweep. Light rains are possible over Delhi, North Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, North Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and South Interior Karnataka.

Reasons for weakening of monsoon
IMD has given the main reason behind the slowdown in monsoon. IMD said that the monsoon is below the latitude line i.e. in the southern part. However, it has started changing, soon it will tilt towards the northern part of the equator. A cyclonic circulation is expected to form over the West Bengal part of the Ganges by July 31, and it is expected to move westward over the Indo-Gangetic plains. Due to this, heavy rains may occur in northern India.
Mild western disturbance
A western disturbance in the form of a cyclonic circulation is likely to develop over northern Pakistan and adjoining Punjab. Its effect can be on Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand. Due to which heavy rains can occur in these areas. Heavy rains are also expected in the hilly areas of the Western Himalayas. Rainfall is expected to continue for at least two to three days i.e. till August 3, which will provide relief from the scorching heat.
