Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Vishwa Sharma on Wednesday once again targeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. The Assam CM, who has often taken a dig at Rahul, said that if he comes to the state for election campaign, the rest of the Congress members will also join BJP. Referring to many Congress leaders and members joining the Bharatiya Janata Party in recent times, the Chief Minister said, ‘I want Rahul Gandhi to come and campaign in the state so that those who are still in the Congress also join the BJP. Let it happen.’
‘There is no comparison between PM Modi and Rahul Gandhi’
Referring to the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ organized in January, BJP leader Sharma said that Rahul once came to Assam and after that many Congress members joined BJP. He said, ‘If he comes again, I will not have to make any effort and many people will join us.’ Sharma said at a rally in Silchar, ‘Congress is now like an old note which has no use. There can be no comparison between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. Sharma said that if people visit Rajiv Bhawan (State Congress headquarters) in Guwahati, they will be surprised to see that there is no one there.
‘It seems there is a self-declared curfew in Rajiv Bhawan’
Assam CM said that it appears that there is a self-declared curfew in Rajiv Bhawan. He said that the people of the entire country are with the Prime Minister and ‘we have to ensure the victory of BJP candidates from Barak Valley in the Lok Sabha elections because everyone wants Modi to become the Prime Minister for the third consecutive time. If Modi becomes Prime Minister, India will become a world leader, no one has any doubt about it. The Chief Minister was on a day-long visit to Silchar (SC) and Karimganj constituencies of Barak Valley for the filing of nominations by BJP candidates Parimal Shuklabaidya and Kripanath Mallah.
