Low diastolic blood pressure: Often when BP is checked, people generally pay more attention to the upper BP. If the upper BP is around 120, then people think that there is no blood pressure. But the lower BP is also as important as the upper one. Blood keeps flowing in the whole body every moment. And the heart does the job of flowing it. As soon as the heart pumps, the blood reaches the whole body with pressure. When the heart is in a resting state, then the blood comes from the body to the heart. When the heart pumps, the pressure formed on the blood vessels, arteries at that time is called systolic pressure i.e. upper BP. When the heart is in a resting state, the pressure formed is called diastolic or lower pressure. In normal conditions, the upper BP should be 120 and the lower BP should be 80, but if the lower BP falls below 65, then it can cause a serious situation.
Why does BP decrease?
Director of Cardiology Department at Fortis Hospital, New Delhi Dr. Nityanand Tripathi It is said that normally the lower BP does not fall below 65 or 60. This can be very rare. If it does, then we have to see the reasons for the BP falling below 65. Sometimes due to stiffness in the blood vessels, the BP machine is not able to measure the pressure correctly. False BP readings can come in this. At the same time, some problems such as hypothyroid or hyperdynamic and vitamin D deficiency can also reduce the lower blood pressure. Apart from this, the lower blood pressure can also decrease due to some medicines.
If these are not the reasons then this is a serious situation. In such a situation, doctors should be contacted immediately. Dr. Nityanand Tripathi told that if someone’s lower BP is actually less than 60 then the crisis is bigger because such people do not live long. There can be many types of damages in the heart of such people. This causes coronary heart disease. The problem of heart attack or heart failure can arise at any time. Therefore, such people need to be very cautious. In this situation, it is also mandatory to always be in touch with doctors.
If this happens, go to the doctor
Dr. Nityanand Tripathi told that even if the BP is up to 65, there is no need to panic. After some time it goes up but if it is less than this, then go to the doctor immediately. Although there are no special symptoms when the BP is below 65. But when the BP falls further, symptoms also start appearing in the body. There is a lot of fatigue and weakness in this. There is a lot of fatigue even after doing light work. In this condition, the heartbeat becomes very fast. Sometimes fainting also occurs due to weakness or fatigue. There is despair, worry and restlessness every moment.
