‘If there is any mistake from our team’, a big statement by Vikas Divyakirti, founder of Drishti IAS, after the UPSC coaching center accident

New Delhi. After the accident in the basement of a coaching centre in Rajendra Nagar, MCD has taken action against many illegal and basement running coaching institutes. Three students died tragically in this accident. The famous Drishti IAS Coaching Centre is also included in this action of MCD, whose founder Vikas Divyakirti has put forth his side. In a statement issued by Drishti IAS, it has been said that they have deep condolences on the untimely and painful death of Shreya Yadav, Tanya Soni and Nivin Dalvin in this accident. Divyakirti said that coaching institutes are extremely cautious about the safety of students and they have a special team of fire and safety officers. This team includes officers trained from National Fire Service College Nagpur, who regularly conduct safety audits of buildings.

Divyakirti said that the buildings with their classrooms have at least two safe escape routes. Welcoming the MCD’s action, she said that clear guidelines are needed for coaching institutes. The Drishti IAS team has appealed to the government to select specific areas for coaching institutes and provide necessary facilities, so that the problems related to rent and security can be solved.

Divyakirti expressed grief and said that the anger among the students due to this incident is natural, and it is necessary that this anger gets the right direction. He expressed his desire to actively cooperate with the government and hoped that the committee appointed by the Union Home Ministry will provide clear guidelines in this regard.
