Mpox deadly strains: Everyone must have heard about monkeypox. People are not so worried about it, but a dangerous new strain of monkeypox has emerged in Africa which has the potential to spread the epidemic all over the world. In view of this emergency threat, the World Health Organization (WHO) has called an emergency meeting. WHO DG Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said that from the research done by scientists so far, it seems that this strain of monkeypox is very deadly and there is a possibility of it spreading in Africa and if it goes out of Africa, then it can spread all over the world. A new strain of monkeypox virus was discovered in the Democratic Republic of Congo in April this year. It is so dangerous that it kills one in every 10 infected patients. This disease has now started spreading outside Congo as well. Therefore, WHO has called a meeting to discuss whether this virus can create an emergency situation in the world.

A new strain has spread in the Democratic Republic of Congo
According to the Daily Mail report, the Democratic Republic of Congo is a densely populated country which shares borders with many other countries and there is constant movement between these countries. Therefore, it is feared that this disease may spread to these neighboring countries sooner or later and may spread to other countries. WHO says that the new strain of the virus has started reaching that part of Congo where this disease was not present earlier. Last month, monkeypox cases were reported. 50 new cases were found in four other countries bordering Congo. However, no case of monkeypox was reported in these countries before this. These countries include Brunei, Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda.

Which people are more at risk
Monkeypox virus same as before It mostly infects men who have sexual relations with other men. Along with this, people who have physical relations with many people are also getting more monkeypox infection. This disease is especially more common among sex workers. WHO DG Dr. Tedros said that WHO is working with the governments of the countries affected by the disease and is moving towards measures to deal with it. He said that a holistic strategy is needed at the community level to stop the spread of this disease. Although so far it has not been advised to stop transportation from Congo, but strict surveillance is needed in the affected countries. For this, assistance of 15 million dollars has also been sought from America.

first case in 2022
Its first case was reported in London in 2022. Then after discussion, the World Health Organization named it Mpox. In 2022, the case of monkeypox was considered an international epidemic. At that time, cases were reported in more than 100 countries and 100 people died in it. Of these, 58 people were from America alone. The two strains of monkeypox that were present at that time were much less dangerous. But in the last one year, a very dangerous strain has emerged in Congo. It is called clade1a. 10 percent of those infected die due to this. Now an even more dangerous strain, clade1b, has arrived which is even more dangerous. Cases of clade1b were also found in Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda. So far, more than 14 thousand cases of all types of monkeypox have been reported.

Symptoms of Monkeypox
According to the Mayo Clinic, monkeypox starts showing its effect 3 to 17 days after infection. After this, symptoms like fever, skin rashes, swelling of veins, headache, body cramps, back pain, cold and fatigue start appearing in the patient. In monkeypox, skin rashes occur mainly in the mouth, hands and feet.
