WhatsApp Fraud Call: Recently, the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has issued an advisory to people regarding calls coming from fraud numbers on WhatsApp. According to the Telecom Ministry, people are receiving such fraud calls in the name of the Communications Department, in which they are being threatened that their numbers can be switched off if they do not provide their details.
These fraud callers threaten mobile users by saying that their numbers are being misused for some illegal activities. This is similar to cyber crime being committed in the name of CBI, where criminals claim to be CBI officers and claim to have received some illegal packet in their name and put them under house arrest.
