Bottle gourd is considered a very beneficial vegetable for health. Eating bottle gourd is recommended for weight loss. Bottle gourd is most beneficial in constipation, gas, acidity and digestion related problems. However, many people start making faces as soon as they hear the name bottle gourd or ridge gourd. People do not like to eat bottle gourd vegetable. If you are also one of those people, then we are telling you how to make a tasty vegetable of bottle gourd and potato. After eating which you will not believe that you are eating bottle gourd vegetable. The special thing is that this vegetable is made from the peel of the bottle gourd. Know how the vegetable made from the peel of the bottle gourd is prepared?

How to make bottle gourd peel vegetable?

  1. If you don’t like gourd, then you can make a tasty vegetable from its peel and eat it.

  2. For this, you will have to take 1 big gourd and then peel it by removing the thick peel.

  3. Remove all the peels lengthwise like this. The thickness of the peel should be equal to that of a bean.

  4. Now cut this peel into small pieces like beans and also cut 2 potatoes along with it.

  5. To add to the vegetable, finely chop 1 medium-sized onion and chop 5-6 garlic cloves.

  6. Chop 2 green chillies finely and chop 1 large tomato finely. Make some ginger rings.

  7. Now put oil in the pan and when it gets hot, add asafoetida and cumin seeds. Now add garlic and onion.

  8. After this add green chillies, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and salt and add tomatoes.

  9. When all the spices are cooked properly, add potatoes to it and let the potatoes cook in the spices for some time.

  10. Now mix the chopped gourd peels in the potatoes and cover the vegetable and cook it on low flame.

  11. When the peels of potatoes and gourd melt, add green coriander and ginger rings and mix.

  12. To enhance the taste and aroma, add garam masala to the vegetable and serve it with hot parathas.

  13. The taste of this vegetable made from bottle gourd peel is very different and special.

  14. Be it kids or adults, no one will be able to recognize that you have prepared vegetable using gourd peel.
