Well, there are many villages in India which have their own rules and regulations. Whenever someone goes there, they have to follow these rules and regulations. But today we are going to tell you about a village in Goa. Where the Panchayat has taken a unique decision. If any outsider enters this village, he will have to pay tax. He will have to pay money. Not only this, he will also have to show a separate certificate.
This strange decision has been taken by the Calangute village panchayat of North Goa. Calangute is a popular tourist destination of Goa which is very famous for its beach. A large number of tourists come here. Village sarpanch Joseph Sequeira said, groups of tourists come in jeeps, buses and other vehicles. People enjoy on the beach. But they spread a lot of dirt. They never clean that place. Because of this, the panchayat has decided to impose entry tax on all tourists, so that cleaning can be done with this money. We want to keep our village clean. We do not want anyone to come here and create dirt. Also, we welcome all the tourists. But we hope that no one will spread dirt.
You will have to show the hotel receipt
The Sarpanch said, the Gram Panchayat has decided that the tourists entering the village boundary will have to show the certificate of hotel reservation. They will have to show the hotel receipt. They will have to tell that they are going to stay here. When people have to enter, they will not spread dirt. After some days, it will happen that the beaches will be completely clean. This proposal will be sent to the Panjim District Collector. After getting approval from there, it will be implemented from October.
Example of Mahabaleshwar city
Sarpanch Joseph Sequeira said, this decision will be only for tourists. It will not be applicable to the local people here. The Sarpanch gave the example of Mahabaleshwar city of Maharashtra, which charges entry tax from tourists. He said, we will implement it on the lines of Mahabaleshwar Municipal Council. There too, this rule has been implemented for cleanliness.
