Jaipur. Sariska Tiger Reserve has created history in tiger conservation. For the first time in 75 years of independence, the number of tigers here has reached 43. Due to hunting of tigers in Sariska, their number had become zero in 2004. After that it was populated with tigers brought from Ranthambore. These tigers were brought 16 years ago. Recently tigress ST-17 has given birth to 3 cubs in Sariska. In the last 4 months, 13 cubs have been born in this tiger reserve. In the coming time, tourists will be able to see tigers easily here. Due to the high number of tigers in Ranthambore, Rajasthan, there is a high possibility of seeing tigers there.
Due to continuous hunting of tigers in Sariska Tiger Reserve, this sanctuary became tigerless exactly two decades ago in the year 2004. The tiger hunting stain on Sariska’s forehead was such that it could not be washed off for a long time. But now the new year has brought a golden period for Sariska. Sariska has been flourishing like a tiger nursery for a long time. On Tuesday morning, Sariska got good news that tigress ST 17 has given birth to three cubs. Sariska has got 10 new cubs in just 13 days and 13 new cubs in 4 months.
13 new guests arrived in Sariska
In the last four months, tigresses in Sariska have given birth to not one or two but 13 cubs. Three tiny cubs have been seen in the camera trap with tigress ST-17 in the Akbarpur range of Sariska. Earlier, on March 13, tigress ST-12 was seen with three cubs. On May 30, 4 cubs were seen in the camera trap with tigress ST-22. Along with this, another cub of tigress ST-12 was seen in the camera trap. On May 29, two cubs were seen with tigress ST-27. On June 11, three more new cubs were seen with tigress ST-17. That is, Sariska has got 10 new cubs in 13 days.
The new cubs are the future of Sariska
Now there are 11 male tigers, 14 tigresses and 18 cubs in Sariska. Wildlife lovers and Forest Minister Sanjay Sharma are very happy with the new cubs being seen continuously in Sariska. The tiger population in Sariska is constantly increasing. Due to better monitoring of tigers in Sariska, the number of tigers is now increasing. New cubs are the future of Sariska. In the coming times, young tigers will rule the Sariska Tiger Reserve. This will increase the fame of Sariska as well as promote tourism in Alwar. New employment opportunities will be created.
Forest Minister Sanjay Sharma made a big claim
Forest Minister Sanjay Sharma said that it is a good thing for Sariska that now an MLA from Alwar is the state’s forest minister and an MP from Alwar is the country’s environment minister. In such a situation, now there will be no discrimination or step-motherly treatment with Sariska. Rather, Sariska will touch new heights of tiger tourism. Minister Sanjay Sharma claims that Sariska will now set a new example for tiger conservation not only in the state but in the country.
