A case of mysterious death of another student from IIT Kharagpur has come to light. His hanging body was recovered from the house on Sunday morning. The name of the deceased student is Mohammad Asif Qamar. Police recovered his body from his room. Significantly, in IIT Kharagpur, within four months, the mysterious deaths of three talented students have created a stir. Police has started investigating the incident! Mohammad Asif Qamar was a third year student of civil engineering at IIT Kharagpur. According to police sources, Asif lived in room number 135 of SDS block of Madan Mohan Malaviya Hall of IIT Kharagpur. The door of Asif’s room was closed since Saturday night. When classmates tried to open the door repeatedly but failed, the police were informed.
At around 3:30 in the morning, the police, who were present at the Hijli post in the IIT campus, broke the door of the room and recovered the dead body of Asif. When the body was sent to Kharagpur Mahakama Hospital, doctors declared him dead. According to police sources, Asif is a resident of Garhiar village in Shivhar district of Bihar.
A district police source said that Asif committed suicide while talking to a Delhi girl on a video call. The same woman informed the IIT officials about this. After this, IIT security personnel and classmates tried to open the door again and again.
