Gurugram. Gurugram Police has busted an illegal arms manufacturing unit in Hathras district of Uttar Pradesh and arrested two people including the mastermind in this connection. Officials gave this information on Friday. The arrested people have been identified as Abhishek alias Jeetu (30) resident of Hathras and 25-year-old Sunil, resident of Aligarh.
Police said they conducted raids in Uttar Pradesh, following which some information related to illegal arms manufacturing was disclosed by one of his associates, Abhishek alias Gabbar, who was arrested in Gurugram on March 19. A total of 25 country-made pistols were recovered from his possession.
During the raid, the police recovered a huge quantity of ammunition and weapons including weapons from the illegal arms factory.
“An illegal arms factory was caught in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh and we have arrested both the accused,” Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime) Preet Pal Sangwan told -AnyTV News.
He had taken a room on rent to manufacture locks and keys, but allegedly started using it to manufacture weapons illegally.
During the raid, the police team also recovered an illegal weapon from Sunil.
During interrogation, he told the police that they used to manufacture weapons at the Manufacturing Ring Unit and sell them at Rs 2,500 to Rs 3,000 per weapon in Uttar Pradesh and Delhi-NCR.
Sangwan said, “Abhishek was involved for many years and a dozen cases of robbery and dacoity were registered against him in Uttar Pradesh including the Gangster Act. He has already served jail term. In Uttar Pradesh and Delhi-NCR. Sunil used to take 10 per cent commission from Abhishek for supplying illegal arms.
