New Delhi. The Central Public Works Department (CPWD) has suspended two engineers in the illegal construction case in Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s bungalow. Both engineers Pradeep Parmar and Abhishek Raj were earlier posted in PWD. Pradeep Kumar is currently posted in Guwahati and Abhishek Raj in Kharagpur. Both these engineers are accused of bypassing all the rules and carrying out illegal construction work in Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s bungalow. A CBI investigation is also going on in this case.

In May 2023, the Vigilance Department submitted a report to Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena regarding the repair of Arvind Kejriwal’s government bungalow and the office built in the bungalow campus. In this report, it was told that the budget was allocated for the repair of the old bungalow, but instead of repairing, the old bungalow was demolished and a new bungalow was built. Many types of illegal constructions were also done in this and in this entire construction process, Rs 52.71 crore was spent on the bungalow. LG VK Saxena had also said in this matter that in the name of repair and maintenance of the old house, all the rules and laws were bypassed in the construction of a new bungalow for Arvind Kejriwal.
This construction work in the government bungalow went on during the Corona period from 1 September 2020 to 30 December 2021. Accusing Kejriwal, BJP had said that this is a big proof of the Chief Minister’s insensitivity during the Corona period. Along with this, BJP had also described Delhi CM House as ‘Kejriwal’s Sheeshmahal’. Let us tell you that in 2013, when the Aam Aadmi Party government was formed in Delhi, CM Arvind Kejriwal made a small government flat his home. After this, in February 2015, when Kejriwal came to power with full majority, he chose the bungalow located at 6 Flag Staff Road, Civil Lines for his government residence.
