New Delhi. The country’s capital Delhi is in the grip of severe heat these days. For the last 15 days, the temperature in Delhi has remained above 40 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature on Wednesday was 44.7 degrees Celsius. While giving this information, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) also gave information about the date of activation of the southwest monsoon in Delhi. IMD said that the monsoon is expected to arrive in the city by the end of June.
According to IMD, Delhi residents will have to face severe heat for now. The Meteorological Department said that the Najafgarh Meteorological Center recorded the highest temperature of 47.7 degrees Celsius in the city. The Safdarjung Observatory, which is considered the official indicator of the city, recorded a maximum temperature of 44.7 degrees Celsius, 5 degrees above the normal average. The Meteorological Department bulletin said that other meteorological centers in Delhi like Narela recorded a maximum temperature of 47.5 degrees Celsius, while Aya Nagar recorded 45.9 degrees Celsius, Ridge 46.4 degrees Celsius and Palam 45.5 degrees Celsius.

Monsoon will be active on 27 June
The national capital is experiencing severe heat. For the last 15 days, the maximum temperature has been recorded above 40 degrees Celsius. The IMD said that the monsoon is expected to arrive in the city around June 27, this month end. According to the IMD bulletin, the relative humidity on Wednesday ranged between 18 per cent and 58 per cent. The department has predicted strong winds and partly cloudy sky at most places on Thursday. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be around 45 and 30 degrees Celsius respectively.
Western disturbance ineffective
Let us tell you that due to the effect of Western Disturbance, changes were seen in the weather of many areas from Rajasthan to high mountainous regions. A large part of Rajasthan was affected by this. Due to this, rain was recorded along with strong winds. Dust storms occurred in many parts of Rajasthan. It was said that the effect of Western Disturbance would also affect Delhi, but its effect was not seen much in the National Capital Region.
