New Delhi. The ongoing controversy over the NEET paper leak has sparked outrage across the country. Investigation agencies are intensely probing the matter and amid this turmoil, Jharkhand’s Hazaribagh district has come into the limelight. The Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) team visited Hazaribagh’s Oasis School, which made shocking revelations. The EOW team’s investigation revealed that the bottom of the question paper packet was tampered with very carefully. School manager Ehsan Ul Haq said, “We did not notice it at that time. The packet was opened 15 minutes before the exam. Only a cunning professional could have pierced the seven layers of the envelope and re-sealed it with such precision.”
During the investigation, Ehsan Ul Haq also exposed the flaws in the transportation of question papers. He told that the EOW found significant flaws in the method adopted by the courier company to deliver the question papers to the bank. Many deficiencies were also found by the EOW during the SBI bank examination. The school manager revealed another serious problem. He told that the digital lock on the box containing the question papers was not working on the day of the examination. Usually, the box opens at 1:15 pm after a beep. However, no beep was heard that day. The supervisor informed the National Testing Agency (NTA), which said it was due to a technical glitch and instructed them to cut the digital lock using a cutter.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered an FIR under IPC sections 420 (cheating), 406 (criminal breach of trust) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) based on a complaint from the Ministry of Education in connection with the NEET exam paper leak. The CBI has initiated a fresh case and will seek an investigation report from the Bihar Police to understand the situation based on its findings. One CBI team has already reached Patna and another team is in Godhra, Gujarat to meet the investigating officers and gather details of the case.
