The case was heard on Thursday in a temporary courtroom set up in Rawalpindi’s high-security Adiala Jail under the chairmanship of Judge Nasir Javed Rana, a report published in Pakistan’s English newspaper ‘The Express Tribune’ said. Judge Rana extended Khan and Bibi’s 10-day remand for 11 more days after the expiry of their 10-day remand in the new Toshakhana corruption case.
Imran is in jail
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Imran Khan (71) has been lodged in Adiala Jail for more than a year after being convicted in several cases. His wife Bibi, 49, is also lodged in jail with him. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) told the court that Khan had cooperated with the investigation team only twice during his last 10 days of remand.
14 days remand was sought
The anti-corruption watchdog had requested the court to hand over an additional 14 days of remand to investigate the case. However, after hearing arguments, the court extended Khan’s direct remand by 11 days and adjourned the hearing of the case till August 19, the report reported.

Khan and Bibi have already completed their 24-day remand period in connection with the new Toshakhana corruption case. NAB has accused Khan and Bibi of purchasing jewellery sets from Toshakhana and selling them in violation of the law.
The government doesn’t have time

After the hearing in the Toshakhana case on Thursday, Khan told reporters that the ruling coalition government led by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) party would fall in two months. He was quoted in the news as saying, “These fools are not understanding that this government does not have more than two months. The government will fall in two months.”

Imran Khan said, “I have a lot of time, but they (rulers) are running out of time.” Khan said that he will not compromise with those in power, no matter how long the government keeps him in jail. He said, “Compromise is done by the person who has committed a crime. I do not have any money abroad nor do I have any property outside the country.” (Language)
