An elderly woman living in Daya Nagar near Daudpur railway crossing in Alwar district was hit by two young men riding Scooty at around 1 pm on Wednesday. The woman fell due to the collision, while the young man driving Scooty also suffered minor injuries. Later, the victim’s husband told the police that a young man riding a scooter had run away after robbing one lakh rupees and a gold chain from his wife. The police is investigating the matter
Hari Singh Chaudhary, a resident of Daya Nagar, said that he had left his wife Gyarsi Devi near Daudpur Gate. While she was crossing the road, two young men riding on the scooter came from behind and either attacked her or snatched her bag, causing her to fall. Hari Singh said, “We were returning from the post office.” Wife’s bag had one lakh rupees and a gold chain around his neck. The robbers rob her and fled. After the incident, the woman was admitted to the nearby Dhanesh Hospital. According to Hari Singh, his wife was seriously injured and fainted on the spot.
The opinion of eyewitnesses is different.
Vishvendra, who runs the shop near the spot, said, “The woman was found lying on the road right in front of my shop.” Scooter riders collided, but no incidents like robbery took place. We thought it was just an accident. In CCTV footage, the woman can be seen falling after a sudden collision. The scooter also fell. In a few seconds, people standing there came to pick up the woman.
Police is investigating.
The Kotwali police is investigating the case based on CCTV footage. Police say that it would be clear only after investigation whether it was a loot or a mere road accident.
