To test the preparations for disaster management, the mock drill organized yesterday was organized in 28 cities of the state including Jaipur as directed by the Government of India. According to the schedule set by the administration, mock drill was started by playing sirens at 14 different places in Jaipur. After this, from 7:15 pm to 11:00 pm, different cities were black out for 15 minutes at different times. This blackout in Jaipur lasted from 8:30 to 8:45 pm.
However, mixed reactions were seen in Jaipur during the mock drill. Some citizens supported the administration by closing the lights and stopping traffic, but a large number of people were seen violating the instructions. Many drivers also drove their lights by burning their lights during blackout, which failed the purpose of the mock drill.
Experts believe that such negligence can have serious consequences in the situation of real disaster in the future. The main objective of the mock drill is to prepare people for emergency situations, but if citizens do not participate completely in it, then this effort can be meaningless. The administration has appealed to the citizens to take such activities seriously in future and ensure the safety of themselves and society by following instructions.
