A painful family incident in South Mumbai’s busy and developed area Worli on Sunday morning shook everyone. 62 -year -old Rajamanohar Nampalli, who lives here, shot his wife Lata Nampalli and later committed suicide due to his long -standing family tension and controversy with son. This heartbreaking incident took place between 5:30 and 6:45 am in the Pankaj Mansion Building of Siddharth Nagar.
Family tension became the cause of death
According to the police, there were often sharp debates and quarrels between Rajmanohar and his son. During this time his wife Lata used to take the side of the son, causing Rajmanohar’s tension and anger to increase. This long -running stress in the family eventually took a deadly turn. Police officials said that for the last about three months, Rajmanohar had given up home food and his behavior had changed considerably. The family feud had become so deep that eventually the path of this heartfelt step came out.
The way of event and the condition of opportunity
Rajmanohar first shot his wife Lata with a desi katta kept with him. Soon after this attack, he also shot himself. Both died at the scene of the incident. Rajmanohar was an electrical repair businessman and was living in Worli with his family. Police have recovered a desi revolver, two pistols and a live cartridge from the spot.
Police investigation and technical action
The nephew of the deceased, Abhishek, who lives in Dharavi area, lodged a police complaint. The police, with the help of the forensic team, prepared the Panchnama of the incident site and also collected digital evidence through the e-Saksha app. The Worli police have registered a case against Rajmanohar under Section 103 (1) (related to domestic violence) and Sections 3 and 5 of the Arms Act. At present, the police is trying to find out where and how Rajamanohar received these weapons.
Further investigation direction
The police have also investigated the surrounding CCTV footage and have recorded statements of witnesses of the incident. Also, the ‘Accidental Death Report’ (ADR) of both the dead has also been made by the police. The Worli Police is investigating this family incident in a thorough investigation to understand the reasons for the dispute and exposed the hidden aspects in this tragic case.
