Usually, passengers traveling on flight are expected that they will be responsible and disciplined, but a video recently viral on social media has questioned the dignity of civic sense of passengers and air travel. In this video, a passenger was caught red handed stealing a life jacket from a flight. The entire incident was recorded in the camera and now this video has become a topic of discussion on the Internet.
What is the whole matter?
This viral video has been shared on Instagram with an account named @travel.instaagram, which has so far received more than 69 thousand views and more than 1 thousand likes. It can be clearly seen in the video that a passenger is being questioned –
“Brother, this is not right, just open the bag.”
When he reluctantly opens the bag, a life jacket comes out of it. On this, the person in front says –
“This is to save someone’s life and you are stealing it. These things are not right.”
In response, the passenger says very carelessly –
“Keep it, man.”
On which he is strictly reprimanded:
“That’s why it was taken out of your bag, because it is wrong.”
People’s anger on social media
As soon as this video surfaced, there was a debate on social media. Users expressed displeasure and started criticizing such passengers. Some reactions:
“Why the train movements now in the plane?”
“It must have felt that it is a raincoat, take it for free!”
“It made it insulted by the civic sense.”
People say that some people also bring the same thinking in the plane that they carry on the road or local bus. This not only tarnishes the image of travelers, but also affects the international image of the country.
This is security violation, may be jail
You will be surprised to know that stealing a life jacket from the flight is not a joke, but a serious crime.
According to the rules of DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation):
Theft of any security equipment from the flight is a security violation.
If found guilty, the passenger may be fined up to ₹ 50,000 or a jail sentence.
Airlines can put such passengers in the no-fly list, that is, they can be prevented from traveling in future.
Which flight is the case?
The flight used in the video is probably being reported by Indigo Airlines, but there is no official confirmation of the flight number or route. There is no clear glimpse of crew members in the video, but after the matter came to the public domain, the rules of the airlines are being questioned how strictly the safety and behavior of the passengers is being monitored.
Civic sense and question of responsibility
Such actions not only reflect the lack of civic understanding of a particular person at high-quality place like flight, but it also raises questions on the entire system. Life jacket can save someone’s life. If it is not found at a time when it is needed, then it may have to pay the price from someone’s life. Such incidents make them think whether passengers are given adequate information about basic safety rules and civil responsibilities during air travel?
