Washington: The relationship between America and Iran is well known. After the attacks on Israel by Iran, the situation has gone from bad to worse. At present, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi is on a tour of Pakistan, on which America is keeping a close eye. Meanwhile, a US official has said that anyone wishing to do business with Iran should also be aware of the risk of sanctions imposed by the US.
America gave advice
“I want to say broadly that we advise anyone wishing to do business with Iran to be mindful of the potential risks of sanctions,” Vedant Patel said. The Pakistan government should know better about its foreign policy.” US State Department Deputy Spokesperson Vedant Patel said this in response to a question about the visit of the Iranian President to Pakistan.
Agreements signed between Iran and Pakistan
It should also be mentioned here that during the visit of Iranian President, Pakistan and Iran have signed eight MoUs. Both countries have also agreed to increase bilateral trade to US$10 billion. During the visit, a meeting also took place between President Raisi and Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir. Munir stressed the need for “better coordination” against terrorists during his meeting with Iranian President Raisi. General Munir described the Pakistan-Iran border as “the border of peace and friendship”. During this, ‘both sides also agreed on the need to promote bilateral cooperation by jointly striving for regional stability and economic prosperity.’
Good relations with Pakistan
In another press conference, Pentagon Press Secretary Pat Ryder said that America has good relations with Pakistan. Ryder said, “It is an important security partner in the region.” Overall, while on one hand America is giving strict advice to Pakistan, on the other hand it is also trying to tell that Pakistan’s relations with America Are strong.
