After major changes in the state units of Punjab and Himachal, the Congress has now decided to move towards a solution in Haryana. Former Haryana CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda has been opposing the leader of the Dalit community, Kumari Selja. But after his removal from the post of state president, the Congress has a new challenge. In fact, she comes from the Dalit community and is at risk of community outrage if she is removed. In such a situation, the Congress has found a middle ground so that both Bhupinder Singh Hooda and the voters of the Dalit community can be approached. In the last few days, several meetings have been held at Sonia Gandhi’s house regarding Haryana. Now the new state president can be announced soon.
Congress will connect both Jat and Dalit communities with one leader
Party sources say that by appeasing Hooda, the party wants to cultivate the Jat community, but it also does not want to send the wrong message of removing Shailja. In such a situation, there has been almost an agreement on making Hooda camp leader Udaybhan the state president. He is a four-time MLA and is close to Hooda. Apart from this, he is also a Dalit leader. In this way, Congress will also do damage control to remove Dalit leader Kumari Selja and the demand of Hooda Camp will also be fulfilled. Apart from this, Kuldeep Vishnoi, son of former CM and non-Jat leader Bhajan Lal, has also come to Delhi several times to meet the high command. In such a situation, there are speculations of giving him an important role too. He is the MLA from Adampur seat.
Kuldeep Vishnoi can also get an important role
Kuldeep Vishnoi met Priyanka Gandhi on 24 April. Apart from this, Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal had also reached to meet on Tuesday. After the meeting, Vishnoi had said, ‘The meeting was very good and I am satisfied. But I have been asked not to disclose anything for the time being. Now Bhupinder Singh Hooda has been called to Delhi by the high command. After this the decision can be announced. Haryana in-charge Vivek Bansal has also met Venugopal. Bansal says that the party high command in Haryana has considered some combinations and an announcement can be made soon.
Earlier, Hooda had got the offer to become the president, but did not agree.
Party sources say that a proposal was made by the high command to make Bhupinder Singh Hooda the state president. But in such a situation, he would have had to leave the post of Leader of the Opposition. Hooda did not agree to this and proposed to make his close friend Udaybhan the state president. In Haryana, one state president and three working presidents can be announced by the high command.
