Former BJP MP from Kannauj, Subrata Pathak, termed this incident as ‘spit jihad’ and wrote on his ex (formerly Twitter) account, “This spit jihad incident is from Talgram of Kannauj. Police will do its job but we have to be careful, these jihadis are not related to anyone.”

Police took action
Kannauj police immediately took this matter seriously and started further legal proceedings by registering a case at Talgram police station. Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar Anand said, “A video of Talgram police station area has come to notice in which a salon worker is giving a facial massage to a person and during this he is seen using spit. A case has been registered at the police station in this matter and the accused will be arrested soon.”
Opposition from Hindu organizations
After this incident, Hindu organizations like Vishwa Hindu Parishad etc. have strongly protested against it. They expressed their anger by protesting against the incident and demanded strict action against the accused. ADG Zone Kanpur has also reacted to this matter and has instructed the police to take immediate action. The police has assured that the accused Yusuf will be arrested soon and strict legal action will be taken against him.
