Elections are to be held on three Rajya Sabha seats in the state in the coming times, out of which two seats are likely to be elected by the BJP and one on the Congress member. This is based on the number of MLAs. If we talk about BJP, then there is a long list of contenders, in which the names of former Chief Minister Uma Bharti and National General Secretary of the party Kailash Vijayvargiya are being taken prominently, but the BJP is constantly surprised by its decisions, so this time also new Wouldn’t be surprised if the faces came to the fore.
Former Chief Minister Uma Bharti has announced to contest the elections, due to which the possibility is being expressed that she too will not be behind in trying to go to the Rajya Sabha. There is also a discussion in the political corridors that BJP can send one of the two women, from backward class or reserved class. Even in these situations, the claim of Uma Bharti will be strong.
On the other hand, a Rajya Sabha seat is set to go to the Congress account and efforts are on within the party to capture this seat. As the main contenders in the Congress, the names of former state president Arun Yadav, former Leader of Opposition Ajay Singh and presently Rajya Sabha member Vivek Tankha are being taken prominently. Supposed to be from the -23 group.
These days there is a distance between former Chief Minister Kamal Nath and Digvijay Singh in the Congress, due to which there is a possibility that the party high command will decide at its level. Due to these possibilities, the round of mail meeting of state leaders with Sonia Gandhi has intensified.
