The son of a former village head was allegedly shot dead in an election dispute in Bahraich district of Uttar Pradesh. The police gave this information on Sunday. Police said that in connection with this incident in Hardi police station area, the family members of the present village head have been accused of murder. Police said the election rivalry was going on between Rajan Awasthi (26), son of former village head of Gram Panchayat Siphia Puli and secretary of the current head Seema Awasthi, Awasthi. According to the police, there was a dispute between the two sides once again on Friday, in which former head’s son Rajan Awasthi (26) was shot dead.
Police said that in this case, Rajan’s brother has filed a case against Pradhan’s husband secretary Awasthi, nephew Mrityunjay Awasthi and Shivam Awasthi. According to the police, the seriously injured Rajan has been admitted to the Trauma Center of Lucknow Medical College. Police said the operation was carried out on Saturday morning to remove the bullet stuck in Rajan’s body, after which he died during treatment in the evening. According to the police, the three named accused have been absconding since the incident, although the accused Mrityunjay Awasthi, who was running away from the motorcycle, was arrested late Friday evening near Sitadohar in Ekona police station area of Shravasti district.
Police said that the other two accused are being searched. Hardi police station in -charge Inspector Sanjay Singh said that the section of murder will be increased in the trial. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Sureshwar Singh said that a motorcycle rally was to be organized in Mahasi assembly constituency on Sunday to mark the completion of eight years of Yogi Adityanath government in the state, but the rally was postponed due to the death of a young man injured in a shootout in Siphiya Puli village.
