New Delhi. The NEET paper leak scandal has brought the government into action mode, Bihar EOU ADG Nayyar Hasnain Khan has been called to Delhi for a briefing. The Home Ministry and the Education Ministry have summoned Khan to give detailed information about the incident. Amit Anand, the mastermind behind the leak, has been arrested in Patna and has confessed to plotting the paper leak. Anand admitted that he had charged Rs 30 to 32 lakh from students for the leaked paper.
More than 60 people questioned, 13 arrested
In the NEET paper leak case, the Bihar EOU has so far questioned more than 60 persons and arrested 13 people. Students have also been questioned. In his confession, Amit Anand revealed that he has been involved in leaking the paper earlier as well. He revealed that a junior engineer named Sikandar had sent four candidates to him. These candidates were provided with question papers and answers a night before the exam. All the people involved in this have been arrested by the police.
Education Ministry seeks report from EOU on NEET paper leak
According to a PTI report, the Education Ministry has sought a report from the Economic Offences Unit of Bihar Police regarding alleged irregularities during the NEET exam held in Patna. A senior ministry official said the report was sought in response to alleged irregularities during the exam in Patna. The government will take further action after receiving the report. The government is committed to maintaining the sanctity of examinations and protecting the interests of students.
Allegations of irregularities in NEET exam
Around 2.4 million students appeared for the NEET exam held on May 5 at 4,750 centres in India and abroad. Though the results were initially expected to be declared on June 14, they were released earlier on June 4 due to faster evaluation of answer sheets. However, soon after the exam results were announced, allegations of paper leaks and irregularities surfaced. This led to widespread protests in various cities and cases were filed in both the High Court and the Supreme Court. The prompt action taken by the government and law enforcement agencies shows their commitment to ensuring the integrity of the examination process.
