Jaipur. On Thursday, two cities of Rajasthan, Dungarpur and Jaipur, raised the pride of the state on the national platform at the world level Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0 prize distribution ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on Thursday.
On this grand occasion, President Draupadi Murmu presented the awards to both cities.
Dungarpur was honored by the President in the “Super Sanitation League (Super Swachh League)” category for his outstanding performance in the field of cleanliness. The award is given to the cities that have been in top three at least once in three years and have made it to two hundred cities of their category in the current year. Along with this, Jaipur Greater was rewarded for inspirational works towards cleanliness in the “Promising Clean City” category.
This honor was received by Dungarpur by Rajasthan Urban Development and Housing Minister Jhabar Singh Kharra, (Independent weight) Chairman Amritlal Kalasua and Commissioner Sanwarlal Abasara.
On behalf of Jaipur Greater, Award Minister Jhabar Singh Kharra, along with Mayor Soumya Gurjar, Mission Director of Swachh Bharat Mission Rajasthan, Juikar Prateek Chandrashekhar received departmental officials.
Minister Jhabar Singh Kharra said on this occasion that this achievement is the result of the urban bodies of Rajasthan, the country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dedication, public participation and effective action plan to the resolution of the clean and developed India. The Department of Autonomous Governance under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma will continue to strive to establish the highest standards of cleanliness with the same dedication in future.
Kharra said that for the first time, three cities of Rajasthan, Udaipur, Jaipur Greater and Jaipur Heritage, have joined 20 clean cities. 12 cities of Rajasthan Udaipur, Jaipur Greater and Jaipur Heritage, Bikaner, Bhilwara, Alwar, Jodhpur North and South, Kota North and South, Ajmer and Sikar have joined the 100 clean cities of the country. Along with this, the number of ODF (open defecation free) ++ cities in Rajasthan has increased from 17 to 38 i.e. almost double and four cities of Rajasthan have also received Udaipur, Rajkheda, Jaipur Greater and Heritage GFC (Garbage -free city) three star ratings. Under the Amrit Yojana, Dhelawas STP Jaipur has been chosen as Best Practice under the Urban Ministerial Conference.
It is noteworthy that for the first time the rank of all the cities of Rajasthan has improved compared to the previous year, no city has been ranked below the previous year.
