The gau rakshaks stopped several trucks late last night due to the possibility of smuggling cattle on a large scale in the district. These 52 trucks stopped on the Madhya Pradesh border were more than 350 cattle. Later these animals were brought to various gaushalas in Banswara district, where their fodder and water were arranged.
It is being told that these animals were being brought from Baldev Animal Fair held in Merta, Nagaur and were being taken to Madhya Pradesh under police security. However, cow protection workers are not allowing transportation of cows without valid documents.
As soon as the information was received, Bajrang Dal, Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Gauraksha workers became active in the district and stopped trucks at various places at night. The workers were enraged by seeing a large number of cattle in trucks.
When the police received information that animals were being brought to Madhya Pradesh from the fair, they took the trucks out safely due to security reasons. But when the trucks reached the border of Madhya Pradesh, the officials there did not allow them to enter the state, due to which all the trucks were brought back and the cattle were removed in the Gaushalas of Banswara.
Officials associated with the Gauraksha Samiti say that if there were documents related to returning from the fair, then why did the Madhya Pradesh Police stop the trucks? This creates doubt and requires a thorough investigation. It is being speculated that these animals were being smuggled.
Meanwhile, Banswara-Dungarpur MP Rajkumar Rot has made serious allegations against the Rajasthan government and the police in this case. He said that the said road does not pass through Banswara. In such a situation, it is clear that the animals were being taken to the slaughterhouse and the state government is giving protection to the people involved in it.
Sadhvi Mahi Didi also questioned the role of the police and said that the doubt has deepened due to repeated changes. There should be a fair investigation into the entire case.
