Bank Holiday on April 19 for Lok Sabha election 2024: According to the Holiday Calendar 2024 of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), banks will remain closed in the respective cities on the election day. Lok Sabha elections-2024 are starting from 19th April. Their result will be released on June 4, 2024. These general elections will be held in 7 phases. The first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh phases are on April 19, April 26, May 7, May 13, May 20, May 25 and June 1, 2024, respectively.

Elections on April 19 will be held in Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mizoram, Nagaland, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Lakshadweep, Puducherry, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Will happen in Maharashtra, Manipur and Meghalaya. Sikkim Lok Sabha seat
Tamil Nadu- Voting for all 39 Lok Sabha seats will be held in a single phase. Apart from this, voting will be held on all the five seats of Uttarakhand.
Tripura-Tripura West
Uttar Pradesh: Saharanpur, Kairana, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Nagina, Moradabad, Rampur, Pilibhit
Jammu and Kashmir: Udhampur
Voting will also be held in a single phase in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Islands and Puducherry.
However, RBI has not declared a holiday on the election day in all these states. The states where holiday has been declared are as follows:
Nagaland
In accordance with Section 135B of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 and in view of the Lok Sabha elections, the Home Department of Nagaland has declared paid holiday for all employees on April 19, 2024.
Uttarakhand
The General Administration Department of the Government of Uttarakhand has declared a public holiday on 19 April.
Tamil Nadu
The Tamil Nadu government has also declared a government holiday on April 19.
Banks will remain closed in these cities
Due to Lok Sabha elections, there will be a bank holiday on April 19 in Aizawl, Itanagar, Jaipur, Kohima, Chennai, Agartala, Dehradun, Shillong and Nagpur.
