New Delhi. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has so far announced the Indian squad for only the first two matches of the five-match Test series against England. It is expected that the selectors will soon reveal the team for the remaining three Test matches. There are reports that star batsman Virat Kohli may be kept out of the team for the last three Test matches against England. Star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and middle-order batsman KL Rahul suffered injuries during the first Test, due to which they were ruled out of the second Test. There are speculations that Ravindra Jadeja may also be out of the remaining three Test matches, while KL Rahul may make a comeback.
Cheteshwar Pujara’s return possible
Considering the domestic performance and current form of senior batsman Cheteshwar Pujara, there is a possibility of his return to the Indian team for the last three Test matches. Pujara’s inclusion could be crucial, especially when Shubman Gill continues to struggle at number three. India may need a strong batsman in the middle order and Pujara can fit comfortably in that role.
Probable 15-member team for the last three test matches against England
The probable 15-member squad for the last three Test matches against England includes Rohit Sharma (captain), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, Sarfaraz Khan, Rajat Patidar, Shreyas Iyer, KS Bharat (wicketkeeper), KL Rahul, Washington Sundar, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Ravichandran Ashwin, Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah are included.
