Singapore: India has formed a new alliance with the US, South Korea, Japan and the European Union (EU). This will benefit many countries of the world. These countries have formed an alliance with the intention of making joint efforts to build a strong supply chain in the bio-pharmaceutical sector. The Presidential Office of South Korea announced the formation of this bio-pharmaceutical alliance in Seoul on Thursday.
The inaugural meeting of this alliance was held in San Diego during the ‘Bio International Convention 2024’. Representatives of biopharmaceutical and pharmaceutical companies along with government officials of the countries participating in the world’s largest biopharmaceutical exhibition were also a part of it. According to South Korea’s news agency ‘Yonhap’, the parties involved in the meeting emphasized the importance of a reliable and sustainable supply chain and agreed to coordinate the bio policies, regulations and research and development support measures of the concerned countries. Representatives said that the production of raw materials and ingredients required for medicines is concentrated in a few countries.
The medicine supply chain will improve
All the parties involved in the alliance agreed to work together to create a detailed map of the drug supply chain. This alliance has been started after the shortage of medicines during the Kovid-19 epidemic. According to the report, South Korea and the US agreed to form an alliance during their talks on major emerging technologies in December. Later it was decided to include Japan, India and the European Union in this alliance as well. (Language)
