New Delhi. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, while addressing an event in Amigaon, Guwahati, said that now the next census will be conducted electronically, so that the chances of any kind of inaccuracies can be minimized. Shah had come to inaugurate the office of the Census Directorate. He said that with this all the information related to population would be stored in a tabular manner at one place. Shah further said that on the basis of e-census, the roadmap for the development of the country for the next 25 years can be prepared. This is the first time that the census will be conducted electronically. The Home Minister said that the biggest advantage of conducting e-census would be that it would help in presenting all the information in a systematic manner.
Information regarding birth and death can also be collected through census. He said that all the information about birth and death rates till 2024 can be collected through census. He said that software would be launched first for conducting e-census. He said that after the software is launched, I will first fill its online form. And on the basis of this information, the future blueprint for the development of the country can be prepared. Shah did not stop there, he further said that “Census is important in many ways. This is even more important for a state like Assam which is sensitive in terms of population.” The census process has been delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

After inaugurating the office building of Directorate General of Census Operations (Assam) here, Shah stressed on the importance of accurate census for better planning of development plans of the country. Along with this, he has also expressed his opinion on many other issues in the public forum, in which he said that earlier the havoc of militancy was at its peak in Assam. But today the situation has completely changed under the BJP rule. However, now what changes are to be seen as a result of conducting electronic census in the coming days. All eyes will be on this.
