Paris. The already close friendship between India and France is getting stronger now. Its sight was seen in Paris on Wednesday. When PM Narendra Modi reached the Elysee Palace, the official residence of French President Emmanuel Macron, the French President hugged him. After this, both had a long discussion on mutual and bilateral issues. The PM had earlier reached France after visiting Germany and Denmark. Where he was given a grand welcome at the airport. The whole world was watching the meeting and meeting of Modi and Macron because of the Russo-Ukraine war. Macron also spoke to Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday, a day before Modi reached France.

After the meeting of Modi and Macron, Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra said that Modi invited the French President to visit India. He told that the Foreign Minister in France S. Jaishankar also held talks with Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Ledrian. Regarding the talks between Modi and Macron, Kwatra said that both of them also discussed other issues including the war between Ukraine and Russia. Modi discussed enhancing the strategic partnership between India and France in a talk with Macron. The two leaders also expressed their views on defence, space and civil nuclear cooperation.

Most importantly, India and France recognized that they see each other as key partners in the Indo-Pacific region. Kwatra said that on the issue of Ukraine, there was a wide understanding between India and France on the issue of Ukraine. Both recognized that coordination and engagement on this issue was important. The two decided that they would take up a creative role. The two leaders spoke openly to each other. The special thing is that Macron has recently become the President of France again. In this sense, this visit of Modi shows the close relationship with him.
