A statement issued by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) said that the space agencies of the two countries will explore new areas to promote mutual cooperation in addition to the ongoing programmes. For this ISRO and Israel Space Agency (ISA) are in constant touch.
Working together, the two space agencies also discussed possible opportunities for launching an Israeli satellite from India’s launch site in 2022 to commemorate the 75th anniversary of India’s independence and 30 years of Indo-Israel diplomatic ties. Of. Last year, ISRO and ISA also reviewed the ongoing activities, including electrical propulsion systems in small satellites and Geo-LEO, among others.
At the same time, it is being told that India’s new Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) policy for the space sector may allow foreign companies to set up their infrastructure as per government guidelines. N Sudhir Kumar, Director, Space Opportunities Related Capacity Building Program Office (CBPO), ISRO, said that if anyone wants to come here to set up their own infrastructure in line with the policies of the central government, then we are excited about it.
He said this at the India-Singapore Technology Summit organized by the Department of Science and Technology and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). He said various policies for the space sector are in the consultation stage, including the use of remote sensing data, space communications, manned space policy, industry and technology transfer. The space transportation policy will allow the industry to have its own launchers, launch pads, launch systems as well as satellites.
