New Delhi. India will host the T20 Asia Cup cricket tournament in 2025. This tournament will be held exactly one year before the T20 World Cup 2026. For this reason, the Asia Cup teams will also use the T20 Asia Cup to test their preparations for the World Cup. The Asian Cricket Council gave information about hosting the T20 Asia Cup cricket tournament on Monday.
India currently holds the Asia Cup title. India has won three of the last four Asia Cups. Since 2016, the Asia Cup has always been used as a preparation for the World Cup. For this reason, the Asia Cup is played in the same format in which the World Cup is to be held. Recently, Sri Lanka hosted the Women’s T20 World Cup. Sri Lanka won the title by defeating the Indian women’s team.

Bangladesh will host the Asia Cup in ODI format in 2027. The ODI World Cup is to be played in South Africa in the same year 2027. There will be 13-13 matches in both the Asia Cups to be held in India and Bangladesh.
The ACC issued a statement saying, ‘Men’s Asia Cup Tournament means a men’s cricket tournament held at an interval of 2 years among the members nominated by the ACC. It will have the participation of teams from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan as well as a non-Test playing member of the ACC. Non-Test countries will make their place through the qualifying tournament.’
