State-owned oil marketing company Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) has launched voice based digital payment service. Through this facility, now any LPG customer of BPCL can book LPG cylinder through a phone call without any smartphone and internet service.
BPCL in association with Ultracash Technologies Pvt Ltd has launched this service through which BharatGas consumers can easily book LPG cylinders from their feature phones. Let us tell you, this service has been launched under the feature phone UPI service ‘UPI123PAY’ recently launched by Reserve Bank.
4 crore people of rural areas will benefit: BPCL issued a statement saying that with the launch of this facility, its 4 crore customers present in rural areas across the country will benefit. Let us tell you that Ultracash is a mobile payment application developed by Ultracash Technologies Pvt Ltd. It is recognized by the National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI).
How to Book: To book Bharatgas LPG cylinder, one must first register with Apka Bank and register phone number with the gas agency. Then you have to link that number on UPI through debit card. After linking, set your PIN. Then you can book LPG cylinder by calling number 08045163554 issued by BPCL.
13000 people availed benefits: BPCL said that within a month of the launch of this service, about 13000 Bharat Gas customers have availed this facility, whose total transaction value is about Rs 1 crore. The company further said that we expect this figure to reach a value of around Rs 100 crore in the coming days.
BPCL Executive Director Incharge LPG said on the occasion that a large number of people still use feature phones in India and it is necessary to provide a secure digital payment method to these consumers. The Government of India is also emphasizing on the use of LPG in the country under the Ujjwala scheme and the service of digital payments through feature phones will further increase this.
