According to the information, the Department of Telecommunication will send the 5G spectrum for auction to the Union Cabinet by next week.
Earlier, the Union Minister had said on Wednesday (May 18, 2022) that India’s own 5G infrastructure would be ready by September-October this year. Recently, at the silver jubilee celebrations of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, PM Modi had said that 5G is going to contribute $ 450 billion to the country’s economy in the next one and a half decades. This will lead to progress in the country and new employment opportunities will be created.
The Department of Telecom is likely to take the 5G spectrum auction proposal to the Union Cabinet for final approval next week. The roll-out of 5G services, expected in the latter part of the year, will create a new area in the quality of services as well as new types of services.
