The report of the committee constituted by the Supreme Court on agricultural laws was made public on Monday. According to this, most of the farmer organizations agreed with all the three agricultural laws. It was withdrawn by the central government in November last year after a long protest by farmer organizations on the Delhi border against the three agricultural laws.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court committee has made its report public. Releasing the report, farmer leader and committee member Anil Ghanwat said that the comments of the committee, being withdrawn, have little significance in terms of impact on agricultural laws. However, it is important for policy makers and farmers. Ashok Gulati, two other members of the committee, agricultural economist and former chairman of the Commission for Agricultural Costs and Prices, and Dr. Pramod Kumar Joshi, director (South Asia), International Food Policy Research Institute, remained unavailable during this period.
