The SIT has made a big disclosure in its affidavit against activist Teesta Setalvad in the 2002 Gujarat riots. Setalvad, retired DGP RB Sreekumar and former IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt have been accused of forging evidence and conspiracy against the riots. All three have been arrested by Gujarat Police. On the other hand, a big disclosure has been made in the affidavit of the SIT filed against the bail petition of Teesta Setalvad.
Let us tell you that the SIT set up to investigate the matter filed an affidavit in the court saying that it was done at the behest of late Ahmed Patel, an advisor to Congress President Sonia Gandhi. According to the affidavit, money was taken from Ahmed Patel twice for this.
This affidavit was presented in the court, claiming that the SIT did not grant bail to Teesta Setalvad. Along with this, the SIT probing has claimed that attempts were made through Teesta to defame Gujarat and the then Chief Minister of Gujarat, Narendra Modi and to bake political loaves.
The affidavit was filed by SIT Investigating Officer BC Solanki in the City Civil and Sessions Court in Ahmedabad on Friday.
