Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras is starting three new postgraduate courses under the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences. These courses will be started from 2023 academic session. The institute is expanding the scope of postgraduate courses by adding economics to the already existing development studies and English studies and these three courses will be of two years instead of the current five year integrated postgraduate course.
There will be 25 seats for Indian students in each course. International students will also be admitted to the courses on additional strength basis. Application process will start from March/April 2023 and classes will start in July 2023. Admission to these postgraduate courses will be done on the basis of entrance test which will be announced soon.
Girls will be empowered through skill development program
A program was launched to empower girl students of ‘Non Collegiate Women’s Education Board’ (NCWEB) of Delhi University (DU) through skill development courses in the field of banking and financial literacy. This program is organized in joint collaboration of Delhi University Computer Center and ICT Academy to prepare Accounts Executive (Recording and Reporting) in the field of Banking and Finance Industry.
Exams postponed in CCSU from July 20 to 27
In view of the Kanwar Yatra, the examinations in Chaudhary Charan Singh University (CCSU) campus and colleges have been postponed from July 20 to 27. The new date will be announced by the CCSU administration later. Shivratri is on 26th July. Kanwar Yatra will start after July 15. There is a huge crowd of Kanwariyas from Muzaffarnagar to Delhi. In view of this, the CCSU administration has postponed all the examinations from July 20 to 27. These days semester and B.Ed examinations of professional courses are going on in campus and colleges.
The university administration says that the rest of the examinations will be held on the scheduled date in due time. The university has changed the date of four papers of B.Ed. The examination of BEd paper code E-201 to be held on July 15 will now be held on July 28. The code E-202 exam to be held on July 20 will be held on July 30. The examination of code E-208 and E-209 to be held on July 20 will now be held on August 1. These papers will be held in the shift from 11 pm to 2 pm.
PhD can be done with job
Professionals working in industrial organizations will be able to do PhD along with their job. Till now he had to go abroad for this. Under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, such professionals in Central Universities and State Universities are going to get PhD opportunity from the upcoming academic session 2022-23. For this, the University Grants Commission (UGC) Council has amended the PhD rules. Professionals desirous of pursuing PhD will have to obtain a No Objection Certificate from their company. Only after that professionals will get admission.
Himachal’s degree and Sanskrit colleges will start from August 1
The portal has been opened for admission in degree and Sanskrit colleges of Himachal Pradesh. A new academic session will start in colleges from August 1. By July 20, the admission forms for the academic session 2022-23 will be submitted in the colleges. The first merit list will be released on July 21. Fees will be deposited during four days from 22 to 25 July. The second merit list will be released on July 26. The fee for this list will be released on July 27 and 28. Orientation session for first year students will be organized on 29th and 30th July, 2022.
