Russia’s military has fired its hypersonic missile at Ukraine for the first time. This super destructive missile is so dangerous that till now no country has its break. This missile is also capable of dropping nuclear bombs. Russia has announced in this attack that it has destroyed a weapons warehouse given by Western countries using hypersonic missile Kinzhal in Ukraine. The missile hit the Ukrainian village of Delyatyn, which is surrounded by mountains.
The missile is believed to have been fired from a MiG-31 supersonic aircraft, which Russia has stationed at the Chkalovsk naval base in Kaliningrad. Kaligrad is a Russian city located near the border of Poland and Lithuania, where it also has a large military base. These missiles are capable of flying at a speed 10 times higher than sound and have the power to drop nuclear bombs. Due to such high speed, it does not give a chance to the enemy to react and destroys him. The Kinjal hypersonic missile can hit up to 2000 km. The Kinjal missile can carry 500 kiloton nuclear warheads apart from conventional explosives. These atomic bombs can be 33 times more powerful than the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima.
After this attack, both Russia and Ukraine have feared the use of chemical weapons. Giving information about the use of Kinjal, the Russian Defense Ministry claimed that Ukraine is preparing to use chemical weapons on its own people and the blame will be laid on Russia. Russia claimed that the US was supporting Ukraine in this work. In response, the US State Department vehemently rejected Russia’s allegations, saying that Russia’s allegations are white lies.
In fact, every year the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, ie SIPRI, prepares a report about weapons around the world. According to SIPRI, there were a total of 13,080 nuclear warheads around the world at the beginning of 2021. Of these, 3,825 nuclear weapons are with the armies and 2,000 weapons are kept in a state of high alert, meaning they can be used at any time. Apart from these, America and Russia have the largest stock of chemical weapons. According to the Arms Control Association of America, in the year 1997, at the International Convention on Chemical Weapons, eight countries gave information about how many such weapons they have.
These countries were- Albania, India, Iraq, Libya, Syria, America, Russia and an unknown country whose name never came out. All countries except America have destroyed their declared stockpile. However, undeclared many countries did not destroy their chemical weapons. The use of chemical and biological weapons is prohibited according to international rules. The Geneva Protocol, established in 1925, stipulated that chemical or biological weapons would not be used in any international military standoff or war, but have been used.
