Not only did Uddhav Thackeray lose the CM’s chair due to the recent riots with his loved ones, but the hold of Shiv Sena is also getting weaker day by day. The CM of Andhra Pradesh is also troubled by the conspiracy of his loved ones. But he has strengthened his legs in time. By amending the constitution of the party, he has made himself the life president.
Jagan Mohan Reddy has been elected as the Life President of the ruling Yuvajan Shramik Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP). An announcement in this regard was made on the second and last day of the party convention here on Saturday. YSRCP general secretary V. Vijayasai Reddy announced the unanimous election of Jagan Mohan Reddy as the life president of the party. He was appointed as the returning officer for the election of the party president. No other leader filed nomination for the post.
YSRCP will now tell the Election Commission that it has amended its constitution to elect Jagan Reddy as YSRCP President. Party leaders are confident of getting ECI approval. He cited the case of DMK, which was allowed by the Election Commission to nominate M. Karunanidhi as party chief for life. YSR Congress was formed after splitting from Congress party. Before Jagan was handed over the reins of the YSR Congress, his mother Vijayamma had announced to quit the presidency of the YSR Congress.
Keep in mind that Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy’s sister Sharmila has formed a separate party named YS Telangana in the neighboring state of Telangana. Experts say that Vijayamma’s resignation is a result of family differences, but Jagan’s mother herself has denied it. He also expressed grief over fake resignation letters going viral. In the plenary session of YSR, she told the party workers, “In 2011 also I handed over my son to you and asked him to take care of it, today once again I hand over Jagan to all of you.”
Jagan Mohan Reddy’s father and former Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy died in September 2009 after a helicopter crash. After the death of his father, Jagan started the journey to console the families. He raised the flag of rebellion against the Congress party. CM Jagan’s mother Y.S. Vijayamma had resigned from the Congress. He had resigned from the Kadapa Lok Sabha and Pulivendula Assembly seats to form the YSR Congress Party.
