The Narendra Modi government at the Center is considering to make money by treating the sewage water of the Ganges river. In this regard, a senior official has informed that the government will start selling the treated water of sewage drawn from the river Ganga. The official says that the government will soon start selling it to Indian Oil Corporation Limited.
Let us inform that about 12 thousand lakh liters (MLD) of sewage water comes out from the banks of the Ganges every day. Ashok Kumar, Director General, Clean Ganga Mission, says that with the commencement of supply of this water to Indian Oil Corporation Limited in a month, the sale of this treated water will start.
DG Ashok Kumar said that this project will start from Mathura. Under which 20 MLD treated water will be given to IOCL. The treated water will be supplied from Mathura Refining Plant (STP) as per the requirement of Indian Oil Corporation Limited. There is an IOC refinery.
The official said this would be the first time in the country that an oil refinery would use treated water. He said that we hope that in a month we will be able to start this project.
He informed that in Sewage Treatment Plants (STP), the sewage and sewage water removed from the Ganges is treated. After that it can be sold to industries. According to Ashok Kumar, the treated water can be used for bathing. It can also be used in industries. After the treatment of dirty water, its use in industries will reduce the use of good and clean water of rivers.
