NCB gives clean chit to Aryan Khan in cruise drugs case. After the arrest of Aryan in the cruise drugs case, this case was making headlines for several days.
Aryan Khan had submitted his passport before the court under the conditions of his bail. He was arrested on October 3 last year in the high-profile drugs case. Aryan had to spend 20 days in jail before the Bombay High Court allowed his bail application. However, NCB did not include Aryan’s name as an accused in the chargesheet filed in May. NCB had released five others along with Aryan Khan for lack of sufficient evidence. Evidence was not found against 6 people in the chargesheet, apart from this, case is going on against 14 accused in this case.
NCB raised objection: After getting clean chit, Aryan had filed a petition in the special court related to NDPS Act and requested to return the passport. Filing its reply on Aryan’s plea, the NCB said that they have no objection to cancellation of bail bond and return of passport, but objected to the writing of ‘discharge’ in the order.
During the hearing in this case, advocate Amit Desai, appearing for Aryan Khan, said that when the accused is removed from the proceedings, whatever order has to be passed can be passed. After this, Special Judge VV Patil allowed Aryan Khan’s petition.
