Modi government is going to reduce the prices of petrol and diesel. The central government has announced that it will cut the tax on oil, which will reduce oil prices.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman made this announcement on Saturday. Sitharaman said- “We are reducing the central excise duty on petrol by Rs 8 per liter and on diesel by Rs 6 per liter. This will reduce the price of petrol by Rs 9.5 per liter and that of diesel by Rs 7 per liter”.
Along with this, the government will give subsidy for 12 cylinders in a year to the beneficiaries of Ujjwala scheme. 200 will be given as subsidy. At the same time, the Finance Minister said that the government is also reducing customs duty on raw materials and middlemen for plastic products. He said that this will bring down the cost of the products.

Nirmala Sitharaman further said- “Similarly we are reducing customs duty on raw materials and middlemen for iron and steel to reduce their prices. Import duty on some steel raw materials will be reduced. Export duty will be levied on some steel products.
