Voting for the presidency will be held on Monday and the results will be out on Wednesday. Opposition candidate Yashwant Sinha continued to target the Modi government and NDA’s presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu throughout the campaign. He asked for Draupadi Murmu that if she wins, the rubber stamp will prove to be the President. Yashwant Sinha also appealed to BJP MLAs and MPs to vote in their favor a day before the voting.
Yashwant Sinha while making an appeal to BJP voters (of Presidential election) said, “I want to make a special appeal to BJP voters. I too once belonged to your party. However I regret to say that the party which was led by Atal Bihari Vajpayee and LK Advani is dead and gone. It is a completely different and humiliated party under a single leader at present.”
Yashwant Sinha once again talked about saving democracy. “This election is your last chance to bring much needed reforms in the BJP. You have to do a great service to save BJP and save democracy in India by ensuring my victory.”
Yashwant Sinha also targeted NDA’s presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu. “My rival candidate has not taken any pledge like saving the Constitution. has in fact remained silent throughout the campaign, providing advance notice that if elected, she will be a mute and rubber-stamp president.”
Yashwant Sinha approached several prominent BJP leaders during his campaign and sought his support. Several BJP leaders called him a better candidate and assured moral support, but did not assure to cast their vote.
NDA candidate Draupadi Murmu’s victory in the presidential election is believed to be confirmed. Apart from NDA, other parties have also appealed for the support of Draupadi Murmu. JMM, BJD and Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party have also announced their support for Draupadi Murmu.
