Opposition to the Agneepath scheme is being seen across the country. Where on Thursday, students demonstrated throughout the day against this scheme in many states including Bihar, Delhi, MP, Rajasthan and Haryana. And now it continues on Friday as well. However, in view of the attitude of the students, the central government on Thursday increased the age limit of the candidates in the Agneepath scheme from 21 to 23.
Please note that there was no recruitment during the last two years. In such a situation, the government has decided to increase the age limit. However, even after the decision to increase the age limit, the students’ protest continues. On Friday morning, students continue to protest in UP, Bihar. According to some TV media reports, on Friday (June 17, 2022) at 6.30 pm at Dumraon station in Buxar, the protesters burnt tires in the middle of the tracks, targeting the railway track. Apart from this, they are also campaigning from the road to social media.
Let us inform that on Friday morning, students ransacked the Ballia railway station in Uttar Pradesh. Following this uproar, the police had to lathi-charge to disperse the crowd. The demand of the students is what will happen after four years of service in the army.
Rakesh Tikait announced a nationwide movement in support of the protest is not beneficial. Tikait said that the plan would be opposed and a national movement would be launched against it.
Tikait said that till now youths were getting 15 years of job and pension in the army. But under the new scheme, when the youth goes home without pension after four years of service, what will be his future.
Significantly, on June 16, there was a violent demonstration of students in Bihar. Protesters torched 5 trains at Chhapra, Kaimur and Gopalganj. At the same time, the BJP district office in Nawada was vandalized.
In fact, the most opposition to the system related to the new army recruitment is happening in Bihar. During this, the protesters stopped the passenger trains and by doing so they are trying to convey their point to the Narendra Modi government. According to the information, a day earlier i.e. on Thursday, miscreants had created a ruckus in Bihar and during this a BJP office was also attacked.
