Many trains have been affected due to the agitation of local people demanding stoppage of several express trains at Barhiya railway station in Bihar. Due to this other passengers have to face problems. At least 35 trains have been canceled and 56 trains have been diverted due to disruption of rail traffic on the Mokama-Kiul section of East Central Railway (ECR) due to the agitation.

Due to this the agitators sat on the tracks. Their demand is that for the convenience of the local passengers, stoppage of many express trains should be done in Barhiya on time.
DM and Railway DSP Imran Parvez made several attempts to persuade the agitators to withdraw their agitation. But it did not yield any result. At the same time, the situation was such that the agitators started preparing food on the tracks.
According to the ECR headquarters in Hajipur, the trains that have been canceled include four express trains connecting the state with Kolkata, Sealdah and Jasidih. In a release issued by the ECR, it has been said that 29 long distance trains were run on alternate routes. These include Howrah-Delhi Express, Asansol-Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Express, Amritsar-Howrah Express and Kamakhya-Delhi Express.
