Amit Shah on History Writers: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has appealed to the historians of the country to bring alive the glory of the past. The Union Home Minister said, doing this will help in building a bright future for the country. Amit Shah said, “History cannot be made by governments. Urged the society to take the initiative to present history in its true form.
Condoling the forgetfulness of the many wars fought by Indian kings against foreign invaders, Shah said that those battles – such as those conducted by the Ahom kings in Assam and the Marathas led by Shivaji in the north-western region – helped India given the place where he is now. The Union Home Minister, who has a keen interest in the history of Rajasthan, said this at the NDMC Hall on the occasion of the book launch of the book Maharanas: A Thousand Years’ War for Dharma by ENT Surgeon Omendra Ratnu.
Leftists ignored the rule of Hindu kings
Shah said that no one can stop the process of writing about these battles for the next generation. Shah said the effort to bring out facts through new history books should be bigger and faster than those who spread lies so that it “can be effective”. Both BJP and RSS allege that history books are written by leftist historians. Who always ignored the Hindu kings and their best rule.
Amit Shah reached the screening of Emperor Prithviraj
Shah urged writers and filmmakers to “work on facts that bring out the truth.” The home minister was present at the screening of television serial ‘Rebel’, based on the life of Odia freedom fighter Baksi Jagabandhu, in April and also attended a special screening of ‘Samrat Prithviraj’, a biopic on ruler Prithviraj Chauhan, last week. He had earlier urged filmmakers to make more such films and serials on unsung heroes.
Shah congratulates historians
Shah congratulated history writers whose books claim to uncover the truth about India’s greatest dynasty, the ‘Sisodia of Mewar’. These writers told through their books that wars were fought with the invaders for a thousand years and even then they refused to surrender. Even if they are surrounded by their enemies all around. Shah recommends writing a ‘context book’ about the struggles of such warriors.
Amit Shah appeals to historians
Shah said, “If we start researching and writing history then this debate will start and the younger generation will start discussing about it. Many important events were forgotten as they got dusty over time. We have to trace them now and bring such people to the fore to wake up the society.” Shah said, the kings who did not even give an opportunity to the invaders to enter the states with their fighting skills, historians have not even recorded them properly.

Many dynasties anonymized by historians
Shah has also urged history writers to write books on dynasties like Maurya, Pandya, Chalukya, Ahom and Gupta etc. Shah said that those who wrote history have ignored these dynasties. There are no reference books about them. He further said, now we should forget the past and write the real history in front of the people, gradually the history which we consider to be false will automatically end. However, the government has started the initiative of documenting the “real history”. Shah further said, this exercise will be successful only if the society takes it as a mission.
If Veer Savarkar had not been there, then the truth of 1857 would not have come to the fore.
Had it not been for Veer Savarkar, I can tell you that the truth of 1857 would not have come to the fore. Shah went on to say, “…revolutions which could have been defeated at that time have the potential to awaken the society and the people. Padmavati’s sacrifice gave women and men the energy to live life with their heads held high. Documentation of history is important because the consequences of events or rebellions are insignificant, its effect on the people should be tried.”
